This grouping consists of all artist proofs and studio editions. When Judi first designs a piece, we give it to the painters to paint a series of typically 6-10 figures. We time every minute that it takes to produce the piece in order to determine an actual cost. When the first pieces are painted, Judi and the painters discuss the production and in some cases changes are made for the final production sample. Of these 6-10 pieces, 2 become painting samples that never see the light of day again and the remainder go to our showrooms for sales samples. Most of these Studio Editions were painted the same year the piece was issued.
